New York

NEW YORK

Nura's second international trip took us to New York, a city known for its entrepreneurial energy, diversity, and fast pace. During our stay, we had the opportunity to work on our projects, explore new business opportunities, and get a firsthand look at one of the world's most dynamic professional ecosystems.

Although we initially arrived with a lot of uncertainty or different expectations, it was a completely transformative experience in the end. New York pushed us to step out of our comfort zone, forcing us to adapt to a demanding environment and a vibrant work culture.

During the trip, we make progress on our projects, build new professional connections, and explore sectors like
fashion, entrepreneurship, and content creation. The city allowed us to see up close how opportunities are built in a competitive and dynamic context.

At the same time, the experience also led us to reflect on the city's way of life. Some members of the group were amazed by the number of opportunities and the entrepreneurial mindset, while others found it more difficult to connect with the pace of life and a culture focused on professional and economic success.

However, this contrast, in fact, gave us the opportunity to reflect on the values we have as a team and a project.

Experimenting in one of the world's

most dynamic ecosystems

The New York experience was a mixture of personal challenges, professional learning, and growth as a team.

The city presented us with an environment full of opportunities, but at the same time, it forced us to adapt to a demanding work pace and a culture focused on professional success. This contrast helped us reflect on the kind of projects we want to build and the values we want to maintain as a team.

Furthermore, the trip
showed us the importance of better preparing Learning Journeys, especially when it comes to closing meetings with companies or contacts before arriving at the destination. Having a foundation of pre-arranged visits or collaborations can make it much easier to start working in a new city.

New Yorketik gatoz ikuspegi berriekin, ikaskuntza baliotsuekin eta talde bateratuago batekin, ikasitako guztia gure etorkizuneko proiektuetan aplikatzeko prest dagoena.

TRIP CONCLUSIONS

2. Collaboration creates new opportunities

Some of the most important advances of the journey were created thanks to working with other organizations or professionals.

3. Analyzing new contexts opens up new perspectives.

New York gave us the opportunity to get started, build community, and observe other ways of developing projects.

4. Communication and listening

We also learned the ability to listen to each other. When disagreements or discomfort arose, the team was able to express and address them through dialogue. This transparency allowed us to resolve conflicts quickly and strengthen the trust between us.

LEARNINGS

Upon arriving in New York, we encountered a cultural environment unlike our own. In the early days, certain initial perceptions dominated, and over time, we learned to better understand and question them.

Living in such diverse cities taught us the
importance of not judging before understanding the context. This experience broadened our perspective and allowed us to further appreciate the cultural, social, and creative diversity that exists beyond our usual environment.

We return with a more open mindset, with the intention of continuing to learn from different cultures, people, and ways of thinking.

1. Leaving the comfort zone accelerates learning

Working in such a fast-paced city forced us to adapt quickly and make decisions in uncertain contexts.

Feelin’ Wood
